Re-intentioning

[00:00:00] **Aurooba Ahmed:** Well hello, this is The Daily Five with Aurooba. That's me. Where we reflect on creating our best lives a little bit every day. Here we go.

[00:00:15] I've got a shorter one for you today. It's the end of the weekend. I'm home at last after having been out for a while, and I'm thinking about everything the new week will bring and everything I want to bring to the new week. I think the last three episodes are pretty demonstrative of the things that have been on my mind.

[00:00:34] Patience, openness, and impact. I'm currently going through a fairly wild period of life. Every day is fluctuating. I can't make too many plans in stone because situations beyond my control may force me to alter them. At the same time, I'm trying to grow professionally, feeling lots of internal pressure to perform highly and Also, continuing to do the things outside of my day job that are the cornerstones of success in my career.

[00:01:03] Patience, openness, and impact. You could say those are the intentions I'm bringing with me to this new week. It's not something that takes often very long. Sometimes I do it in bed, staring up into the dark, taking inventory of how last week went and considering how I want this week to go. Inevitably, I know that this week will not go exactly as I plan, because no week ever really does.

[00:01:30] When I plan and think through my intentions anyway. Patience, openness, and impact. I said this in some other episode, but it's always interesting to observe what different environments bring out in you. The effect environment can be difficult to alter or shake, but you can do it. You can bring something really purposefully to the situation if you're mindful enough.

[00:01:55] And a lot of the times it takes a lot of energy to do that, but it is certainly worthwhile if it helps you feel more worthy, more yourself. And that's where reintentioning, I just made that up, comes into play. We really should do that a lot, and we do. Anytime you've taken a deep breath and shaken off a weird feeling, put on a smile or something, and carried on, you've reintentioned.

[00:02:27] Or, you know, set your intentions again. I like to coin words sometimes, and so I've coined reintentioning. I invite you to think about what intentions you want to take with you into the new week. All kinds of things will happen this week that you didn't plan on, perhaps. And plenty of things, I'm sure, that you did plan on.

[00:02:49] And you'll have to adjust and react accordingly. From what place do you want to adjust and react? What kind of energy do you want to bring to the situation you find yourself in?

[00:03:04] For me, it's patience, openness, and impact. Thanks for listening! Same time tomorrow?
